The Great Orme offers a range of opportunities to its visitors and is a great place to explore. Take a tram from the town to the Halfway Station which is ideally placed for a visit to the Copper Mines, or ride up to the Summit Station where there is a cafe/pub, gift shop, crazy golf, ice cream kiosk, Visitor Centre and toilets. There is also a cable car service operating from the town to the summit. Parking is available if driving up, via two routes, one of which involves a toll. The views are amazing and walking tracks where sheep and goats graze freely are aplenty. The Orme summit and a point just after the lighthouse on the toll road can get a bit crowded at times as people head over to enjoy and photograph the sunsets which can be best described as magnificent.
It was so windy. We didn't think the tram would be running. But it was. Then we went into the cafe. Which had big fresh cream cakes that made us forget they do other food. Had a little pot of tea too. Not too expensive.
Absolutely fabulous place. Breathtaking views, amazing walks, the churchyard was such a lovely place to visit with all its history. My daughter throughly enjoyed walking round and reading history. The display in the church for the war hero's was lovely. I highly recommend visiting here, it's a mind blowing place. Will definitely come back.
A truly nice introduction to North Wales. The views from the top are magnificent, particularly on a clear day. Tip: wrap up well when going by tram as it has no glass on its windows. Try to make time to visit bronze age copper mines. You can also drive or walk to the top. Try to spot the mountain goats, there are in plenty.
Great place! Nice little play area for children and a decent large slide! The views are stunning and they have telescopes to look through for 20p a go. Great place for walks. The summit cafe is good, it has a decent cafe and a bar. Toilets are clean. The crazy golf is fun, a little dated but still fun to play and we had plenty of laughs going around the 18 hole crazy golf course. Lovely place and the tram or sky ride are both great ways to travel up the Orme.
